Reviews: Only in My Dreams

There are some difficult topics in this novel involving death, addiction, and neglect - however, the overall tone of this novel is one of change, hope, and finding happiness not only in relationships but within yourself. I will warn you that this one was a tear-jerker at times, both happy and sad, but mostly happy. The end of the novel had me steady crying tears of joy and when finished reading, I had a fantastic warm and fuzzy feeling. Also, those that aren't a huge fan of explicit sex scenes, this is perfect for you. There are numerous romantic and sexy moments, but not in an overly detailed way. Ricki Dagosta sets the tone, lets you know what's going on, but allows the readers to use their imagination.

Most people my age can relate to Kristen and root for her throughout this “can’t put down” book. We’ve all made mistakes and the lucky ones are given a chance to clean up our acts. When she meets the man of her dreams, it seems too good to be true; and unfortunately it is. Is Vince really the man Kristen has been dreaming of, or will she end up with a shattered heart once again? I had to keep turning the pages so I could see how this turns out! I loved Vince, then hated him, felt sorry for him and wanted to strangle him, but not necessarily in that order! Read this book. You will not be disappointed! You don’t have to read her books in order, but you’ll want to mark her as an author to follow so you won’t miss any!

Only in My Dreams, the second instalment of The Ties that Bind series, is another wonderful story about love and family, forgiveness and second chances by Ricki Dagosta, that again tackles the complexities of human relationships with elegance and sensibility. And, when appropriate, with a dash of humour.
Both MCs are struggling with their past while trying to start anew: the insecure and broken Kristen is determined to not give herself to another man who isn’t willing to truly commit, Vince carries the weight of the worst pains of all, an event that marked his past and almost destroys his present and his chance at a second chance at happiness with Kristen.
This is a beautifully written novel, one of those that definitely stays with you...

I recently read “Only in My Dreams” by Ricki Dagosta. Although contemporary romance is not my typical genre, I very much enjoyed this book. Ricki did an excellent job of creating captivating, believable characters as well as writing an intriguing plot which definetly kept my attention. I appreciated the manner in which she dealt with complex issues and the depth of their impact on the main characters. It is one of those books which I found myself looking forward to reading whenever I had the opportunity to escape in to the storyline with the characters. My curiosity was always peaked, wondering what turn of events was next awaiting Kristen, Vince and their supporting cast. I am looking forward to Ricki’s third book in her “Ties That Bind” series.
